Thank you for swinging by! I am Ved, a writer and historian-in-training. Also, I am one of Midnight’s many grandchildren. The world deeply interests me.
Otherwise, I am also an incoming doctoral candidate in the history of international relations at the University of Cambridge, where I am affiliated with the Center for Geopolitics. At Cambridge, I am kindly supervised by Professor Shruti Kapila and Professor Brendan Simms.
For my MPhil at Cambridge, I read history and politics under Professor Simms, after finishing my undergraduate studies in economics and politics at St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi. I have also served as a research assistant to Dr. C. Raja Mohan and have previously been associated with the Asia Society Policy Institute in New Delhi, the American Enterprise Institute in Washington DC, St. Stephen’s Center for Advanced Learning, and Synergia Foundation in Bangalore.
I love writing on history, great-power politics, Asian geopolitics, culture, Anglo-Americana, and India for the Lowy Institute in Australia and Engelsberg Ideas in London. My work has appeared in Nikkei Asia, The National Interest, The Times of India, The Diplomat, The Hill, The Hindu, East Asia Forum, CNA, India’s World, Providence, Oxford Political Review, and Fair Observer.
You can find me reading, walking, and ruminating on my brief club cricketing career.
I’m yet to be taken seriously by my family. Hopefully, you, my reader— will show faith.
